Christian Political Movement gains a foothold in Spain

The ECPM represents about 20 political parties in the European Parliament. Recently, a new Spanish political party joined the Movement. It is named Contigo+ (With You More), Evangelical Focus reports. Contigo+ is a party with a Christian identity and emphasises the need to involve civil society in the political arena. Its Secretary-General Juan Carlos Abellán hosted the meeting at which the ECPM presented itself in Madrid.

The ECPM is the only political party in the European Parliament that promotes Christian values. That says its President Valeriu Gheleţchi. According to him, the Movement brings together like-minded “individuals, parties and organisations from all over Europe”, Evangelical Focus writes.

Values that the ECPM promotes include human dignity, people over profit, the fight against human trafficking and the Nordic model for fighting prostitution. Furthermore, the Movement supports preserving and promoting European Christian culture and heritage.

Currently, the ECPM has four seats in the European Parliament.
