Jewish students take Twitter to court because of anti-Semitism

A group of Jewish students has started a court case against Twitter. They want to force the social media platform to remove anti-Semitic posts.
The students are part of the European Union of Jewish Students (EUJS). They are supported in their court case by the German human rights organisation HateAid. That is reported by the Dutch daily Reformatorisch Dagblad.

The controversial messages that are the reason for the court case have been placed after Elon Musk took over the social media platform. The posts were reported to Twitter, but the company did not take action, the plaintiffs complained. They demand that the posts be taken offline and that Twitter clarifies how it checks the messages on the platform.
One of the messages would have denied the Holocaust. That is illegal in Germany.
“Twitter has broken our trust. By allowing hateful content to spread, the company does not succeed in protecting users, and especially not in protecting young Jews”, EUJS president Avital Grinberg says. He adds: “What starts online does not end online.”
At the beginning of January, the press agency Bloomberg reported that Musk wanted to decrease the budget of the censorship team even more. Musk, billionaire and CEO of the electric car producer Tesla and the space company SpaceX, reorganised Twitter after taking it over. He fired about 5000 out of the 7500 employees.
