A movie about the “exciting story” of German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer will be published at the end of 2024.

Courage and willingness to sacrifice will be central in the movie "Bonhoeffer", which is scheduled to be released in cinemas in November 2024. The movie will portray the life of one of the most prominent German theologians of the 20th century. "There has never been a time in history when we needed to be reminded of the life of Dietrich Bonhoeffer more than today", says Jordan Harmon, president of Angel Studios, which will release the movie.

The movie script is written by the American author Todd Komarnicki, who calls it "a unique privilege" to share his "exciting story" with the world, reports the German Christian magazine PRO.

Dietrich Bonhoeffer took part in the resistance against the National Socialists for theological reasons during the Second World War. He was executed in the Flossenbürg concentration camp on April 9th, 1945.
