German police arrests largest child porn network
Central Europe
The German police have broken down an international child pornography network called “Boystown” with more than 400,000 users on it. It is understood to be one of the world’s largest Darknet child porn platforms.
Four people have been arrested. The language used on the platform was English, so the impression is that the network was mainly international. The hunt for the 400,000 users is very difficult, German N-tv writes.
The network seems to have been active since June 2019. According to the police, the images show serious forms of sexual abuse.
After the arrests in Germany, the platform was shut down. The police reports that it has been investigating this network for months with a taskforce under the coordination of Europol. The authorities in The Netherlands, Australia and the United States have been of help. The network’s servers were in the Republic of Moldova, Tagesschau mentions.
Three people are accused of being the administrators of the network. They are a 40-year old man from Paderborn, a 49-year old man from Munich and a 58-year old German who lives in Paraguay. A 64-year old man from Hamburg is suspected of having registered the website in July 2019. He was with more than 3,500 posts one of the most active users.
