Biblical name Noah most common among boys in Sweden

This is what the Swedish newspaper Dagen writes based on data from the Swedish Statistical Office SCB.

In 2021, 706 new-born girls were christened Alice and 745 newborn boys christened Noah.

In recent years, the same name reappeared again and again on the top list when the SCB summarized the most famous names among new-borns. So too last year, when Alice and Noah topped the list again. Both names were the most popular even the year before.

Alice has held first place for six years in a row. The name has been on the top ten list since 2005 and has ended up in first place ten times. Noah, the most popular name for the second year in a row, has also been on the top 100 list since 2000 and the top ten list for the past six years.
