Norwegian conservative Christians will be organising a conference in January next year with the theme "Discipleship in a gender-neutral age." "We have no desire for the conference to have a neutral or impartial profile."

According to general manager Øivind Benestad, the need for a conference that offers knowledge and awareness on such a subject is great. He says so to the Norwegian Christian Press Office. "The pressure against Biblical creation theology and coexistence ethics is formidable, and many feel a strong need to meet." Therefore, Benestad will host the conference on January 27th and 28th in the Norwegian capital of Oslo.

Several well-known Norwegians will speak at the conference, which numerous Christian organisations, including the Evangelical Lutheran Church, organise. For example, Gabriele Kuby, writer of The Global Sexual Revolution: The Destruction of Freedom in the Name of Freedom, and the Finnish Bishop Juhana Pohjola will be speaking. Earlier this year, Pohjola stood trial with politician Païvi Räsanen for homophobic hate speech, from which they were acquitted.

Benestad says the conference is meant for "people who want to confess and defend the common Christian and biblical theology of marriage and family, sexuality and gender." According to him, there are very few arenas with this focus. Therefore, he has "no desire for the conference to have a neutral or impartial profile."
