Many attendants of a church service in Immanuel Church in Örebro tested positive for Covid-19. They had been present during a service on Christmas Eve, Dagen reports.

In total, 200 people were present in the evangelical church meeting, and all were vaccinated, according to Dagen. Yet, more and more people tested positive in the days after the service. The exact number, however, is unknown. Thus far, none of the churchgoers became severely ill.

Difficult to say where

Pastor Johan Arenius acknowledges that the church service seems to be a significant source of infection but points out that there is a large spread of Covid-19 in general as well. “It can be difficult to say exactly where you have been infected.”

After the church discovered that many people were getting sick, it spread information to warn its members of possible infection. In addition, the service on Sunday, January 2, was held outdoors.
