Anja Hoffmann (born in 1992) obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Transcultural Communication after studying in Austria and France. After that, she acquired a Master of Arts degree in Human Rights at the University of Vienna. Hoffmann is specialised in religious freedom. From 2017 to 2022, Hoffmann worked in the Austrian parliament as an assistant of the Austrian People's Party and Christian politician MP Gudrun Kugler. She then returned to university and spent a year studying theology and philosophy at the International Theological Institute in Trumau, Austria. Since October 2023, she has served as Executive Director of the Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination against Christians in Europe. She has been active in raising awareness of current religious freedom issues with various international organisations and the media, and as a public speaker. Hoffmann is a Roman Catholic, part of various Christian ecumenical networks and a member of the Austrian Evangelical Alliance.
