The European Parliament has decided to make international surrogacy part of human trafficking.

The Danish sperm banks have a shortage of donors to meet the demand for sperm. Therefore, they launched a campaign to attract more men. However, the action is controversial.

In 2022, almost half of the women who got pregnant in Denmark from a sperm donor did not come from the country itself.

Dutch gynaecologists are worried about sperm donors in other countries who can father as many children as they want. They call sperm banks in Denmark to set a limit.

The University Hospital in the German Bonn is not obliged to hand over the sperm of a deceased person to his former partner. The Bonn District Court dismissed the 31-year-old woman's complaint on Tuesday.
