Christian radio continues to broadcast in Ukraine, despite evacuations

The violence and uncertainty of war have forced the station to relocate twice in recent weeks. In February, the station's head, Ivan Zhurakovski, made preparations for a possible relocation of the radio, including purchasing a vehicle for the relocation work. Although New Life Radio had never purchased a car before, an all-terrain vehicle was available on February 23. The invasion began the following day.

Despite the war, the station's equipment allows it to continue broadcasting via the Internet and satellite radio. "New Life Radio" has never been out of service, but live broadcasts were no longer possible. This reports the Christian Swiss news portal Livenet.

Move to Romania

However, the station's management wanted to find a safe place where they could broadcast live again. Zhurakovski decided to move to Chisinau in Moldova with his family to be able to broadcast live again. Immediately after entering the country, one of the pastors of the local church told the family that it was too dangerous for them to stay there, as Russian forces were operating very close to the border, and an invasion was feared. Eventually, Zhurakovski found a place with Christians in Romania where the family could stay and set up the radio station.

At the moment, New Life Radio can broadcast a few hours a day live. After that, it switches back to an automatic program aired from Odessa.
