The National Day of Prayer for Ukraine will take place on June 11 and 12. This year, it is not held centrally in Ukraine but only in local churches. The reason is the war violence in the country.

Last month, church leaders of twenty denominations gathered already for a prayer meeting for the peace of Ukraine. That is reported by InVictory. The prayer meeting was organised by the Spiritual Council.

The Council then proposed to hold a Prayer Day on June 11 and 12 as well. The National Day of Prayer for Ukraine has been held since 2016, Sobor reports. The British evangelist David Khasavey was involved in the initiative. During the event, Christians from Ukrainian churches and Christian communities worldwide pray for Ukraine. The main slogan of the National Day of Prayer for Ukraine is based on 2 Chronicles 7:14: “My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and will pray, and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and forgive their sins, and I will heal the earth.”
