The number of immigrants that moved from Russia to Israel has grown by 400 per cent in 2022 compared to a year earlier. The Aliyah Assistance Company helps Jewish returnees with their move and intensifies its work.

According to statistics from Ofek Israeli, 32,494 Russian citizens have made the so-called aliyah to Israel, Jerusalem Post reports. In addition, 14,450 Jewish people moved from Ukraine to Israel. In total, 61,000 immigrants have arrived in Israel so far this year. That is more than 200 per cent more than in 2021, Jerusalem Post writes. The final numbers will be published closer to the end of the year.

Jewish people are eligible for immigration to Israel worldwide under Israel's Law of Return. It is important to distribute correct information to Jews worldwide about this possibility, Ofek Israeli CEO Shimon Cohen said to Jerusalem Post. When they do receive this information, "tens of thousands of people make aliyah to Israel."
