Criticism on LGBT worksheets in German school grows

The German action alliance for marriage and Family "Demo für Alle" also raises its voice against LGBT worksheets for sixth-grade students at the "Hildegard von Bingen" school in Cologne.
The spokeswoman of "Demo für Alle", Hedwig von Beverfoerde from Magdeburg, called the worksheets scandalous. She argues that the students are "indoctrinated with a flawless ideology of sexual diversity." That is reported by Idea.
At the school, students learn about gender reassignment and discuss "diverse gender-related biographies", the North Rhine-Westphalian Ministry of Education explained earlier. The sheets state that everyone must find their own gender identity and that this identity is separate from their biological sex. Furthermore, the text reads that there is "only one's own, very personal gender identity."
Earlier, the president of the German Teachers' Association, Heinz-Peter Meidinger, criticised the worksheets for the 11 and 12-year-old students as well. He argued that these kids are still in puberty and looking for their roles. "Confronting them with the question of gender reassignments in this phase is insensitive, un-pedagogical and does more harm than good", he said.
